Every year, over 600 million Americans rely on motorcoach travel to get to work, travel between cities affordably, and to attend major events that drive the cou...ntry's economy. The pandemic has put the brakes on that, and America's 3,000+ motorcoach companies have been pushed to the brink of extinction. Most operators have had nearly zero revenue coming in, and no help from Congress while almost every other form of passenger transportation receiving $91 Billion in the CARES Act. 80,000+ drivers, mechanics, cleaners, and office staff have been furloughed since March because of this inaction, and many of those jobs are permanently at risk. The military relies on motorcoaches for nearly all of its domestic transportation needs. Just about the only work that has been available for motorcoaches this Summer and Fall has been multiple major disaster evacuations to move vulnerable citizens out of harm's way of hurricanes and wildfires in states all across the country. And the very same politicians who rely on us to provide those vital services for the country, and expect us to stand ready on a moment's notice, need us to protect their own jobs. Each year, hundreds of candidates and incumbents use motorcoaches on the campaign trail to make sure that their jobs are secure. It is hard to believe that this industry's jobs have been overlooked and forgotten given their reliance on motorcoaches for their own livelihoods. The working families and family businesses that make up this industry, which has been designated critical infrastructure by the Department of Defense, need Congress to act and act NOW before the buses are gone and drivers no longer have a vehicle to drive, mechanics don't have a bus to work on, and companies are forever. #IncludeCERTS #BusesMoveAmerica #COVIDRelief
