The American Academy of Pediatrics, California Chapter 2 Board of Directors wishes you a Happy New Year! We thank our members for supporting this professional organization whose primary goal is to improve the lives of children. Our combined membership advocacy efforts (including members calling legislators) were instrumental in improving children’s lives. Here are some of our 2017 highlights: We took active positions on 287 California bills.... We authored three of the Top 10 ALF Resolutions and influenced the changes in pediatric dentistry guidelines in regards to dental anesthesia. The 28th Annual Pediatric Symposium was a great success with 8 speakers and 10 Resident Poster Presentations. We hosted 14 Town Halls - 460 members and non-members in attendance. We conducted 2 QI Projects 18 Webinars 59 Participants (You may visit our Newsletters page to see our monthly publications http://aapca2.org/publications). We also want to thank our partners and supporters: National AAP, First 5 LA, First 5 San Bernardino, First 5 Ventura County, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
