Today, local marketing expert Sierra Summers led our #AMASV webinar on creating effective & empathetic communications during the #covid19 crisis. Tips for #covid19 marketing communications: - Make it personal. Be real & avoid heavy-handed formatting. - Always center your customers & how your business can help them. Think about what those customers might need right now & how you can provide solutions, not just products. ... - Don't lead with COVID-19. Focus on a solution, like "Pay what you can" or "Are you OK?" - Offer a discount for cash-strapped customers. - Highlight the most valuable information at the top. Your customers need to know: are you open, how you can help, how you're taking extra precautions & how you'll protect them from exposure. - Think deeply about whether your messaging fits your brand, is sincere, stands out from what other brands are saying, is not capitalizing on this crisis, and will make you proud when this crisis is over. - Use best practices for ADA accessibility. - Send your emails from a person, not a general alias. - Consider NOT emailing. Take time to call or videocall your customers and ask, "How are you doing?" Boost your social media efforts. - Make sure your internal & external messaging match up. Support your STAFF. Make sure they're OK. Receiving great support enables staff to continue providing quality customer service. http://amasv.org #marketing
