Thank you all for coming back and shopping with us. We are so excited to have you all return to the Nursery. We know 99.9% of you are following and understand the rule that you have to wear a mask to shop in the Nursery and we thank you. For those of you who are upset about it, we just want you to understand that we are not the only business requiring it. ALL businesses in Santa Clara County should be operating under these guidelines. If you do not wish to wear a mask, then w...e encourage you to place an order for curbside pickup or delivery only. To shop on premises, we are requiring everyone to follow the county guidelines. Safety while shopping, both for our customers and for our staff, is our priority. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are so pleased to announce that effective Monday, May 4th, Almaden Valley Nursery will be REOPENING!! The new Santa Clara County order allows for certain lower risk businesses that operate primarily outdoors, including retail plant nurseries, to be able to resume operations. There are strict requirements for reopening so we will have modified operating processes we want our customers to be aware of before entering our facilities; Modified Open Hours will be 9:00 am-4:...30 pm, 7 days a week. ~ We will allow a maximum of 15 customers onsite at a time. We ask customers to limit their shopping time to 20 minutes. Our knowledgeable staff is here to help but please come prepared with a list of your needed items to allow for efficient shopping. Parking will only be available in the front parking lot as the interior parking lot will not be open. ~ All customers must wear a face mask to be able to come onsite and must wear them until they return to their own vehicles. ~ We ask that all customers and staff adhere to social distancing of a minimum of 6 feet while onsite. ~ We will have disinfecting products available for customers and staff at check-out/register areas and the entrance/exit to the nursery. ~ There will be no public use of our restroom and we ask customers not to enter our employee breakroom and office areas. We hope this helps create a safe shopping experience for everyone and we can all start our Spring Planting!! We encourage curbside pickups for those that wish to place their order by phone or email instead. We will have set hours for pickups and we will arrange that with you when this service is requested. We will also still have home delivery available, to our regular delivery zones and our preexisting delivery rates will resume effective 5/4/20. Availability of home delivery varies and we will arrange that with you when this service is requested. We are looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful customers again. We have missed you all and we are excited to be able to help you with all of your garden needs! We would also like say a very special thank all of you that have supported us during this tough period and placed orders with us for delivery which has helped carry us through. We are so appreciative to all of you for your loyalty and support of our family owned business!!

ANNOUNCEMENT As of 4/9/20, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office has notified all garden centers within this county, that they are considered not essential enough and can no longer provide curbside pickups. At this time, we are now only permitted to sell existing inventory, via home delivery. Effective immediately and until further notice, all purchases made via phone or email, must be arranged to be delivered and can no longer be picked up curbside at our f...acility. All other surrounding Bay Area counties still consider plant nurseries essential business and they are still permitted to operate just like grocery and hardware stores within the parameters set for them. It is only in THIS county, that this new restriction is being placed on plant nurseries. All of us in the garden industry are challenging this new determination and asking for a review of their opinion and to reverse their decision but until something changes, we are forced to comply. As you can imagine, this is disheartening to us as Almaden Valley Nursery has been in compliance since the very first day of the SIP. We immediately shifted our services and staffing to comply with the new guidelines and from day one we have erred on the safer side to protect our customers and our employees. We have done everything the county has asked of us and more. Even with the drastically reduced amount of sales these past few weeks, it has allowed us to continue to care for our living inventory and to provide employment for key staff so by restricting us further, it just adds increased financial hardship to our small business. We are so sorry to have to share this news as we have been trying so hard to provide as much service as we possibly can to our community to allow you all to cultivate and grow your own food and maintain your own gardens. We will continue to do so within the parameters we are allowed and are hoping that soon, we can do more. We appreciate the support for our small family owned and operated business. We are proud to be a part of this community and we hope to be able to continue to serve you all well, as we have for the last 45 years. To place an order for delivery, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 408-997-1234.
