Scam alert! Most of you probably know about the IRS scam where they scare you into thinking that you are going to jail if you dont pay them. Typically they have you buy Green Dot cards, or iTunes gift cards. Today, I got a call from a toll free number on my cell that if you google it, it appears to be coming from Verizon. They tell me that they overcharged me by $25 on my last bill and asked how I wanted to receive the refund. Right away I knew this was a scam, but I went alo...ng with it out of curiosity. He said to me that he just needed to verify my information. I told him that I would verify his information he had. He insisted that he was the one from Verizon and that he had to be the one to verify. He said, "Dont you see the number Im calling from?" Of course he is saying this with a very strong indian accent. I told him thats easy to make any number show up on someones caller ID. I went round and round with him, just screwing with him and then he said, "Well I guess Im not talking to the right person". Then I went off on him calling every dirty name I could think of cause this guy is a POS preying on innocent people. People be aware that these scam artists can make any number show up on your caller iD. Never believe anyone calling you and never give out your personal information. Always call them back if you need to on the number you know is correct. If its your bank, use the number on your debit card, etc. See more

UNBELIEVABLE! Convicted of robbery, does 2-years, released, breaks parole - no consequences; convicted of auto theft, back to prison, RELEASED LAST APRIL AS NON...-VIOLENT under AB 109... then arrested 5 times since... released 10 days ago, kills his cousin (allegedly), steals his car, then murders Officer Keith Boyer & wounded his partner (allegedly) on a routine accident investigation. The judge quoted here blames it on Mejia's ability to obtain a gun. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I fought AB 109 type ideas like eliminating prison time for parole violations as the lead Assemblyman on public safety issues in the state legislature until I termed out in 2008. In 2011 it passed AB 109 with all these ill conceived soft on crime changes. AB 109 needs to be revoked. I was interviewed in this story explaining how ridiculous 10 days in county jail is for a violent felon parole violator. My deepest condolences to the family of Officer Keith Boyer, who died in the line of duty from the firefight ambush, and Officer Patrick Hazel who was also struck but thank goodness survived.

The Importance of Complying with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) An employer must certify in writing to the Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA), the employee has been given the required notices and has received written authorization from the employee to obtain the background report. The employer must also certify they are requesting and receiving the information solely for the purposes in making an employment decision. The CRA must obtain prior written consent from the appli...cant and in cases, if an investigative consumer report is requested; the disclosure must contain specific language regarding the subject’s personal characteristics, mode of living and job performance. The disclosure must communicate to the applicant they have a right to receive a copy of their background report in its entirety in state specific areas, regardless if any adverse action is taken. Along with the signed disclosure and Notice of Background Investigation, A Summary of Your Rights Under the FCRA, any state specific releases and compliance forms must also be provided at that time. It is important to note, the disclosure and releases must be stand alone documents and may not be a part of or attached to their employment application. If an employer decides not to hire or promote the applicant or employee based on the information contained in the background report, certain steps must be taken. 1. Provide the applicant/employee with a pre-adverse action letter, which states they have 5 business days to dispute any negative information contained in their report. This letter must also disclose the name of the CRA who procured the background report. Along with this letter, they must also receive a copy of their background report, A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act form, as well as any additional state specific compliance forms. 2. After 5 business days pass, the applicant/employee must be provided with and adverse action letter. This letter closes the door, letting the applicant know they are no longer being considered for employment. This letter must also disclose the name of the CRA who procured the background report. Along with this letter, they must also receive a copy of their background report, A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act form, as well as any additional state specific compliance forms. We are now taking orders online for pre-employment backgrounds, non pre-employment backgrounds and skip tracing (locating someone). The sensitive data in our site is now encrypted and the site appears to be working great. We will be adding some new features soon.

We now have the encryption part of the site up and running and will be adding the credit card information within a few days. If you would like to login and test out our site, that would be helpful. When placing an order, just add the word TEST in the notes so that we know you are helping us test the system. If you happen to notice anything not working properly or have suggestions to make it easier, please let us know. You can create an account without having to put in credit card information. You will need to put in a valid email address as we now have the email verifier working.

Allstate Investigations has updated the website. Customers now have the ability to order searches online. Currently you can order Pre-employment backgrounds, general backgrounds and skip tracing all online. Now customers can create their account and login to send the information. Customer Credit card information will be online within the next couple of days, once we have the encryption portion completed. The next process will be where the customer can see the orders status and retrieve their current and previous reports online.
