On this last day of November and #NationalAdoptionMonth, Allies CEO Heather Carrigan shares why foster care and adoption has a special place in her heart: "My daughter means the world to me. I have so much to be thankful for."

How it started vs. how it’s going National Adoption Month style.

We’re celebrating #NationalAdoptionMonth with one of their incredible foster families who share what motivated them to become parents to a teen in foster care: We always knew there was a need for loving homes for children in foster care. Foster children also need to be loved as a child, young adult, and as a person, as they reach milestones and face challenges. We specifically want to foster/adopt teens because when we see a teen, we see a child who is still growing and who will need someone to turn to as they enter adulthood. Once we found out that these children were less likely to become adopted, it just felt like the right thing to do.
