Providing hope to this world, means to go against our human nature and forget about the "Survival of the Fittest", but rather, "To Think of Others, First". If we want to change our world, then we need to bring hope back into this world, We need to.... Help Other People Experience (Love Everyday). It reminds me of the old song and lyrics by Luther Vandross. "What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love".

The other day, I went to put some clothes in the closet and the whole shelf and rack fell down. As I piled all the clothes and plastic containers out of the closet, I noticed that the shelf pulled a way from the wall. With closer inspection, I noticed that when this was first installed, they never anchored the shelves on a stud, so after time and weight, the entire shelf pulled away from the wall. It reminded me of life and relationships and how important it is to have a firm foundation to stand the test of time. A successful relationship is one that is able to weather the storms and difficulties that life throws at us, knowing that this too shall pass and the sun will shine once again.

The other day I was going through my backpack, and found a lot of items in there that I didn't need, things that I don't even know how they got in there, or why I thought it was important to save them. That's kind of like life. We tend to keep things within us that we don't need to carry. One of life's greatest challenges is trying to let go of your past, the hurts, pain, anger or regrets. As I cleaned out my backpack, I noticed it was lighter and easier to carry. As we sort out the things in our own life that we need to get rid of, we too will find that the burden of carrying all those things was unnecessary and only made life more difficult in the first place.

You have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Harriet Tubman... Harriet Tubman was born a slave in 1820. She had a passion due to her religious conviction to help people. Because of her passion and commitment; she saved over 300 slaves and helped them escape to freedom. She was known as the Conductor of the Underground Railroad. During the Civil War, she served as a cook, nurse, laundress, spy and scout. After the Emancipation of Proclamation, she moved back to Auburn, New York where she spent the rest of her life. She had a dream to build a home for the elderly and in 1908, when she was 88 years old, the Harriet Tubman Home for the Elderly was inaugurated. May we all have the same conviction to get out of our comfort zone to dream and find our passion, reach for the stars and work effortless to change the lives around us, our families, our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, our community, our state, our world.

Public Service Announcement: Slow Down and Enjoy Life Today I had to take my car in to get something fixed at a dealership in Glendale where I bought the car. As I was driving, I got a little lost because I took the 710 instead of the 210 (I was trying to do this by memory). Anyways, my wife put the address in Google Maps and we found our selves driving through the neighborhoods of Alhambra, and into the hills of Pasadena (passed by the Rose Bowl), and then went past the D...escanso Gardens, and finally to our destination. It seemed to take forever, but we saw many beautiful homes and great scenery along the way. My daughter called and as my wife was talking to her; my wife was telling her how Google Maps is taking us all over the place. My daughter reminder her that she needed to change the setting that says avoids all freeways because that is why we were going all over the place and through all the different neighborhoods. Despite the long detour, it was really a pleasant drive and all the things we saw added to make it a great experience. It reminded me that in life, sometimes we go so fast and we are often in such a hurry or sometimes life takes us on an unexpected detour. Because we fail to slow down and take in the journey that lies before us, we often fail to stop and look at the scenery around us. I want to encourage us all to take time and slow down and enjoy life. I'm sure we all have heard the saying " don't let life pass you by". The only way to not let life pass you by, is to not go so fast. We must all put effort into experience it with great intention. Who knows what we will see and find, if we just slow down. See more

Today, I had dinner with some good friends, and it made me realize that while food may satisfy our hunger, friendships satisfies our soul. Spend time with your friends.
