Meet the K-12 AEA-Agua Dulce Partnership Academy Faculty Marlowe Weisman Theatre Arts, Film & Yearbook Instructor Marlowe Weisman received his BFA in TV and Film from the University of Arizona. After brief study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, Marlowe landed on staff at Walt Disney TV Animation, writing for "Disney's Aladdin." Over the years he's written for such cartoons as "Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy," "Animaniacs" and "Baby Looney Tunes" (for which he earned an Emmy nomi...nation). He recently served as head writer on the newest episodes of "Mia and Me," a girl's action-fantasy now airing on Netflix and Nick Jr. He also co-wrote a German movie based on the "Letters From Felix" first-grader books. In 2007, Marlowe started directing well-received afterschool theatre programs at his daughters' schools in the Saugus Union and Hart districts. He joined the AEA family in 2012, staging such varied student productions as "Alice in Wonderland," "The Mouse That Roared," "The Little Mermaid" and "Monty Python’s Spamalot," as well as original readers theatre remembrances of 9/11 and the JFK presidency. He also recently guided the AEA student newspaper to several local journalism awards. As a local director, Marlowe staged the raucous "Jewtopia" and "Woody Allen’s ‘Play It Again, Sam’." As an A.D., character actor and dramaturge, he has contributed to such productions as "A Few Good Men," "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Graduate" and "M*A*S*H." Marlowe considers theatre performance essential for young people in building the confidence, discipline and focus they can carry into any profession. His proudest moments of the past five years have been watching his youngest actors from 2012 direct productions of their own before graduating in 2017.

Meet the AEA-Agua Dulce Partnership Academy Faculty Interview with Mrs. Kerry Fickett Q: When did you know you wanted to be a teacher? A: I decided my sophomore year of college. I taught English because those were my favorite classes in school, and I had always had good teachers in that subject.... Q: How long have you been teaching? A: I have been teaching off and on 27 years. Q: Where have you taught? A: I taught for Village Christian High School, various homeschool programs, and Albert Einstein Academy, Santa Clarita 7-12 Q: What do you teach now? A: English Q: What is the best part of your job? A: My favorite moments are when students connect with something they are reading, and it changes the way they see the world and themselves. Q: What is the worst part of your job? A: Saying goodbye. Q: Do you feel like you have an impact on your students? A: I have many students from the past who still love a book that I had the privilege of introducing to them. Q: How long do you think you will continue to teach? A: I cannot see an ending time. As my dad says, teaching keeps me young. Q: Growing up, who was your favorite teacher and why? A: Kurt Hild, my senior English teacher, as well as my college teacher brought literature to me, and taught us how to see literature, and how to see the world. In his class we learned that the Challenger had crashed. We mourned together. Q: What was your major in college? A: English Q: Where did you go to college? A: The Master’s College Q: What do you like most about working for AEA? A: I love teaching with other teachers who love teaching. Q: What do you think makes this school special?
