****this is a copy and paste from a great friend.... let’s get some letters and packages sent out.**** Hello friends & family. I need your help. I am asking any...one who can read this, if they feel led, to please consider sending my son Jake a card of encouragement in the mail. Here's his situation: (Jake is blocked from seeing this post) He has been on lock down, unable to do ANYTHING, since last summer. No traveling, barely any outdoor time. Just confined to his room. Not at all what he signed up for. His roommate, decided to break the rules, and partied in mainland Japan for New Years, bringing back Covid for the entire base. And JAKE JUST TESTED POSITIVE. He's now even more confined, moved to a different room, with even tighter restrictions. Worse than that, he is SUPER DISCOURAGED about all of this. I send him care packages about once a month and he beams with excitement every time he receives ANYTHING. If you so feel led to send him a card, package, anything, here is his mailing address: Cpl Cable Jakob H. MACS-4 COMM Unit 37215 FPO, AP 96372-7215 United States You don't need to know my son personally to send him encouragement. Thank you.

#ThrowbackThursday When the United States entered World War II after the Attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the 3rd Cavalry was still a horse-mounted u...nit in an age of mechanized warfare. February 21, 1942 marked the end of an era as the troopers turned in their horses for armored vehicles. They began their training at Fort Benning, Georgia and in January 1943, the Regiment was reorganized as follows; the 3rd Cavalry Regiment was redesignated the 3rd Mechanized Cavalry Group (MCG), 1st Squadron became the 3rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, and 2nd Squadron became the 43rd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. At Camp Gordon, Georgia the Group began conducting mechanized operations and participated in combined arms maneuvers in Tennessee and Fort Jackson, South Carolina before sailing to England. #BraveRifles #Veterans #BloodandSteel Third Cavalry Museum III Corps and Fort Hood
