I just finished reading, Shoe Dog, by Phil Knight, Founder of Nike. In 1964, Phil Knight, a passionate runner, started Blue Ribbon Sports. His reason. He couldn’t believe there was no shoe company making an effort to make better shoes. That there was no innovation in running shoes since their creation. That every time you wore those leather shoes, your toes hurt. As I discovered in this book, yet again, that the creators of great companies are people who care. When I first started coaching, I went all out. I signed up a bunch of clients, and I jumped straight into serving them. I created loose strictures and frameworks for our sessions together.... I discovered very quickly that I had the skills to enroll clients, but I couldn't hold on to them. They didn't come back for more. In my first year of coaching, not a single client re-enrolled with me. They all seemed to have loved our year together. Their businesses grew. But none of them came back grew.
