"STOP! They are shooting!" The road to Artsakh reads. This beautiful road, hugged by gorgeous rolling hills and bright magnificent wildflowers is currently threatened! Artsakh is unjustly and horrifically under attack. Support peace! Stand with Armenia! Stop Genocide. Donate (ArmeniaFund). Advocate.

** NEW AIWA-SF BLOG POST **On October 28th Artists from around the world hosted a Live Concert for Peace, titled Rock for Artsakh. The inspiring, important, and powerful concert called attention to the horrific genocide and war happening in Artsakh. Artists included Tigran Hamasyan, Sebu, Serj Tankian, Areni Agbabian, and MANY MORE! Sebu Simonian shares It was an honor to participate in #RockForArtsakh. I worked on a new version of the song Safe and Sound with a young prod...ucer named Jonah Walsh. I performed and recorded it in my home studio and had my friends at Creative Armenia compile footage from the frontline as well from communities all over the world. I’s a song about solidarity and hope. We are all in this together, which means no matter what happens, at the end of it all, we will be Voghch Aroghch! #rockforartsakh ONEArmenia ArmeniaFund AGBU

DAYS OF WAR The International Committee of the Red Cross facilitated the handover of bodies of combatants killed in action during the ongoing war. According to... the ICRC, the operation took place following an agreement between the sides; the remains were transferred across the international border from Azerbaijan to Armenia. The President of Artsakh issued a call-to-arms today in a video message to the nation, saying that Azerbaijani units were several kilometers from the fortress city of Shushi. EVNReport Meantime, enemy ammunition depot was destroyed by Armenian Defense Forces . Sounds of its explosion were heard in Stepanakert. Azeri military targets in Ganja and Barda were bombarded. The remaining civilian population in Artsakh living in bunkers are often deprived of electricity. Difficult for them to cook food or wash. Yet we endure because we are survivors!!! Colonel Aida Serobyan - went through the Artsakh Liberation War as a field nurse. Was wounded twice, in 1992 and 1994. In 2011 she was awarded the Medal for Valor. I met her in 2007, I believe.a very positive and good humored woman exhuming so much strength. Today, at 66, still on the battlefields, saving lives -see photo. First women battalion goes into action -see photo. Another example how the country mobilizes today for the war. Musician are preparing camouflage nets in the Yerevan Opera House. We must prevail!

The United Nations, France, Russia, and the United States will have Armenian blood on their hands! For decades, Azerbaijani nation-building (under the rule of t...he Aliyev family) has been predicated on the erasure and destruction of Armenians. The last thirty years have demonstrated that the Azerbaijani government cannot be trusted with an Armenian population. State-sponsored curricula teach anti-Armenian hatred, and Azerbaijan prohibits all ethnic Armenians from entering the country. Despite current President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s claims that the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh are his own citizens, he has spent the last four weeks indiscriminately shelling their cities and destroying their homes, schools, hospitals, and places of worship. Armenians’ distrust for the Azerbaijani government is not some ancient ethnic animosity, but a well-substantiated judgment. The Soviet Union formalized two regions historically home to Armenians - Nagorno-Karabakh and Nakhichevan - as autonomies within Soviet Azerbaijan. In Nakhichevan, which Azerbaijan now governs, there are no traces of Armenians and Nakhichevan’s Armenian past has all but been erased. Today Azerbaijan’s military forces, and the Syrian mercenaries recruited by the Turkish government to help them, are heading toward the Lachin corridor, a mountain pass forming the shortest route between Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. If Lachin were seized by Azerbaijani forces, it would cut off the only route by which the Armenian people of Nagorno-Karabakh could flee to Armenia. Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh could not only be cut off from food, running water and heat, but could also face complete annihilation at the hands of Azerbaijanis and the Syrian mercenaries. Should this unthinkable happen: 1) the United Nations should be held directly accountable, given that Azerbaijan and Turkey are pointing to UN Resolutions to deter any international intervention in Nagorno-Karabakh, and given the lack of any action by the United Nations to stop Azerbaijan’s aggression against the Armenian civilians of Nagorno-Karabakh; and 2) the Minsk Group, co-chaired by France, the Russian Federation, and the United States, charged with spearheading the OSCE’s efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, should also be held accountable, given that other than trying to talk both sides into agreeing to a ceasefire they have not done anything substantive. Thus, we need to keep pressure on the United Nations, France, Russia, and the United States to take some action to stop Azerbaijan! #StopAzerbaijaniAggression #RecognizeArtsakh #DontBeBlind #HumanRightsViolations #StopErdogan #genocide

Very early this morning we were able to raise over 200k in just a few hours with a live event hosted by ONE Armenia in collaboration with Suzy Sogoyan. Suzy hos...ted a live auction online with many other activists and celebrities who auctioned off valuable items. It was amazing. They had reached a 100k. We thought that was the max we can do. But after 20 mins we got to 150k and then 30 mins later we got to 202k. We also heard amazing testimonies from hidden heroes like Garen Koloyan and other amazing nurses who work 24/7 shifts and heroic soldiers who are so resilient, strong, and intelligent. All proceeds went to Hayastan All Armenian Fund and will be doubled!!!! Thank you everyone for the amazing participation and donations!!!!!! The goal was 6 million and I believe One Armenia was able to reach it today See more

DAYS of WAR - Today my son went for the second time to Wigmore Orthopedic clinic in Yerevan to pull an ingrown toenail. His appointment for such an insignifica...nt problem is postponed once again because there are emergency surgeries for soldiers that are brought in. Hospitals are overwhelmed with injured civilians and soldiers as well as COVID. I hear of more and more diasporans and locals volunteering to go to the front. Facebook pages have been opened for people wanting to volunteer sawing, knitting, making camouflage nets, or collecting and doing triage of donated food and clothes. Fatigue plus Covid is taking a toll on people. Yet, there is no time for complains, hopelessness or despair even though we wonder what else can befall on us. Often, we hear Akh, akh.and then we gather ourselves and do what is needed. They say the fighting has been lighter since last night. But no word of ceasefire. Meantime, some in the opposition who I don’t even want to repeat their names have asked for the resignation of the government. I wonder what other country would have tolerated this when it is under attack. The deception and treason are intolerable. Meanwhile the maternity hospital in Stepanakert -see photo- as well as Shushi were bombed. Peaceful French Armenian protesters were attacked by Turks with hammers. One young Armenian in critical condition -see photo. The day ended with the spokesperson of Armenian Defense Forces who told us to be prepared as the enemy will burn in hell.
