Mr. Kamal Martin is a graduate of the University of Oregon, with a B.A. in History and an M.A. in International Studies, Mr. Martin serves on the board of directors of Project New Village 501(c3), and is chair of the NAACP San Diego’s Political Action Committee. Mr. Martin is currently a 2020 mayoral candidate in Lemon Grove, CA, where he lives with his partner and two teenage daughters. @aiapsd

To watch the live event please join us on Wednesday, August 26 at 7-8 PM from the following link: www.facebook.com/aiapsd/ Dr. Shahrzad Rafiee is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Attending at the Long Beach Memorial Hospital. She is also a senior partner at the California Emergency Medicine Group (CEMG) at Long Beach, where she serves as the director of Physician Assistant (PA) program. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Northwestern University in 1992 and medical degree from University of Illinois in 1997. She completed her emergency medicine residency at University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000 and subsequently worked as an attending physician at Resurrection Medical Center prior to joining CEMG at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Rafiee has been involved in education and training of residents, EMTs, and paramedic students from early on in her career. She was an examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), and a lecturer for UCLA’s Paramedic program since 2005. She has also been featured in several episodes of Emergency Medicine reality TV shows depicting her cases. Dr. Shahrzad Rafiee will explain challenges and advancements of the health care system during the Covid-19 pandemic in AIAP’s August general meeting. Association of Iranian American Professionals
