Adventist Health Clear Lake 31.01.2021

Our emergency department at Adventist Health has seen multiple overdose cases recently, including 4 in the last day. The sources of these overdoses are coming in the form of non-prescribed opiates or compromised forms of heroin/fentanyl, ecstacy, and cocaine. If you, or someone you know, may be at risk of an overdose we can help. Our Substance Use Navigator can connect you with services and offer training/distribution of Narcan. Narcan is used for the emergency treatment of ...a known or suspected opioid overdose. The timely administration of Narcan can save lives. Contact Tina at 707-349-4340 for more information, or to arrange training and distribution of a Narcan kit. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public to not take any medication/pills that have not been prescribed to them by a physician or provided to them by a pharmacist. If you, or someone you know is in possession of these pills or illicit substances, please discard them immediately or turn them over to the authorities. #AddictionTreatmentStartsHere #HelpIsAvailable

Check your knowledge of the #COVID-19Vaccine with these facts and myths: Myth: I don’t need the COVID-19 vaccine if I already had COVID. Fact: The CDC recommends that you get vaccinated even if you have already had COVID-19, because you can catch it more than once. Myth: I can get COVID-19 from the vaccine. Fact: You cannot get COVID-19 from the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines because the virus is not used to produce them.... Myth: I can stop wearing a mask and physically distancing as soon as I get my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Fact: Masking, physical distancing and minimizing interactions as recommended by the CDC will likely stay in place for some time. Myth: The COVID-19 vaccine affects fertility. Fact: The COVID-19 vaccine does not affect fertility. There were pregnancies that occurred in both the vaccine section and placebo section of the clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccines without any imbalance between the groups, and no one who received the vaccine in the trials has had a poor pregnancy outcome to date. Adventist Health Clear Lake is aware of the community interest in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and when you can receive it. Currently, we are vaccinating ages 65 and older and teachers who are established patients of Adventist Health. We have over 800 patients who responded to this first wave of vaccinations and are busy setting up appointments for each of these patients. Our team has worked long hours setting up a safe and socially distanced system for distributing the vac...cine. In order to continue keeping everyone safe and accommodate all the appointments coming into the clinic we added additional dates next week, January 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29. If you are an established patient and meet the criteria, please call 707-995-4500 and leave your name and phone number on the voicemail. You will receive a return call to schedule an appointment time to receive your vaccination. If you have already left your information someone will get back to you. Vaccines will be administered at the Adventist Health Clear Lake Clinic at 15230 Lakeshore Drive, Clearlake. Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate the rollout of vaccines. Patients who do not meet the above criteria will be offered the vaccine at a future date. Please help us share this message widely so we can help keep everyone informed.
