George Walker was the first Black American to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music. He was a Fulbright Scholar, organist, and concert pianist the first Black classical instrumentalist to play with the Philadelphia Orchestra or to be signed by major management. His compositions transcend genre and are too rarely performed. We were honored to feature his works on both of our concerts this fall here’s his take on Psalm 117, "O Praise the Lord"
