Today we recognize World Cancer Day- Did you know, in Kenya cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths? 611 WEEP mothers/households have benefited from HEART through medical support by paying their National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) premiums, medical bills, health education, and nutrition and other psychosocial support. HEART partners with healthcare providers to conduct cervical and breast cancer screening activities annually. In the year 2020, Barthold Family Foundation (BFF) grant funded ten breast and cervical cancer screening activities among WEEP mothers in Kibera, Manga, Gucha, Nyakach, Taita Lower, Taita Upper, and Kakamega WEEP Centers.#africaheart #worldcancerday2021
