GM has been using the 6 speed 6l80/90 in many of its late model trucks and SUV. Manufacturers and aftermarket vendors have identified several issues with the 6l80 transmission. One critical issue is torque converter failure. For this reason at Adam's Automotive we always install heavy duty billet torque converters when we overhaul a 6l80 transmission. This is a 2015 chevy Silverado with 149k. The customer came all the way from Stockton this past friday. Starting on it today
