Where did the whole 21 days to form a new habit thing come from? Doctor Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon who observed patients through the 1950’s, published a book in 1960 stating that acclimating to things like the appearance of an altered nose or the feeling of an amputated limb took around 3 weeks.
