Fennel, often found in teas, is used in TCM for indigestion, spasms in the digestive tract and for expelling phlegm from the lungs. Fennel is rich in the antioxidant flavonoid Quercetin, which is a strong natural antihistamine. Quercetin appears in other plants, like cilantro, and is helpful for reducing inflammation caused by allergic reactions. #Fennel #Tea #TCM #Indigestion #Quercetin #Inflammation #FeelBetterToday #NaturalHealth
Herbal medicines have been used alongside acupuncture in TCM for as long as the medicine has existed. This new study adds to the data showing herbal formulas do a lot to support the work of acupuncture in achieving improved health. #TCM #HerbalRemedy #Acupuncture #Safe #Natural #Effective

Sauerkraut. Fancy taco toppings. Soups and stews. Cabbage pops up in recipes from all around the world, and for good reason, it turns out. Cabbage, both the green and purple variety, is great for your health. In TCM it is used to improve circulation, removing toxins around the joints that block Qi and blood. In TCM, as in Western medicine, cabbage has been found to support brain health, boosting mental function and concentration. Cabbage is also a great source of vitamin C, which helps to boost your immune system. #TraditionalChineseMedicine #Cabbage #Inflammation #Green #Purple

This point is located on the top of each foot, in the webbing between the big and second toes, where the tendons meet. Alternately pressing this point on each foot helps to regulate and refresh the liver, which is the most important organ involved in detoxification. Considered a calming point to alleviate anger, irritability, insomnia, and anxiety. When paired with LI4, it can move stuck energy throughout the body. #AcupunctureWorks #FeelBetterToday #Liver3 #Acupressure #TraditionalChineseMedicine #NaturalHealth

Acupuncture can sometimes be written off as just a placebo effect, suggesting it doesn’t actually work, it’s just people’s minds tricking them into thinking they’re better. Many doctors and scientists have addressed this criticism, explaining why even if placebo effects play into the mechanisms of acupuncture, that’s not actually a bad thing. #TraditionalChineseMedicine #Acupuncture #Placebo #FeelBetterNaturally #AcupunctureWorks

In 2015, a study published in the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy systematically reviewed a series of previous studies that sought to answer if acupuncture had a positive effect on patients with allergic rhinitis, or hay fever. They limited their systematic review to only randomized control trials. Some of the included studies looked at over 2,000 patients. The analysis looked at questionnaires the patients filled out about their symptoms and quality of life as well as IgE levels in the bloodstreams, an antibody produced when the body is overreacting to an allergen. The review found patients in each of the studies experienced statistically significant improvements to their allergy symptoms when compared to the control groups. #Acupuncture #Allergies #FeelBetterToday #Natural #Health
Kidney 1 is located on the bottom of the foot. If you drew a line from the base of the second and third toes to the heel, this point would be about one third down that line, closer to the toes than the heel. KD 1 is the lowest point of the body where Qi enters the Kidney meridian. KD 1 grounds the Spirit through constant contact with the energy of the earth. KD 1 can sedate and calm the mind, while also regulating blood flow to the upper part of the body. Centuries before it was made into gummy candies, licorice was used in traditional Chinese herbal remedies. Because it is used so often to balance out herbal formulas and improve the flavor, it is sometimes called the grandfather of herbs. Licorice has strong detoxification powers, reducing the toxicity of nicotine and caffeine, for example. It also soothes digestion, tonifies the spleen and strengthens Qi. #Licorice #Balance #TraditionalChineseMedicine
