I had the opportunity to watch my daughter & her daughter (my granddaugter Lia - age 6) go to a fund raising event in which Bubba Watson, the PGA pro, was the main attraction. It was held at a putt putt golf course & wouldn't you know that Bubba took a picture with my ladies as well as wished my wife Mary Jane greetings via Facebook Messenger - live! More often than not, it's the little things that can stir your heart. I look forward to seeing our family over the Christmas Season & maybe spending some time on the golf course there. The other day a client (construction industry) asked me a question about something that was a "combo" question - business issues tied into people / life issues. So, I thought I would use the "rules" of golf to help him. I said to him, " Just like in golf, sometimes life doesn't seem / isn't fair. For example, you hit your drive off the tee and the ball goes out of bounds. You are assessed a 1-stroke penalty & you have to re-hit your drive from the tee again - so you are now h...itting your 3rd shot". He interrupted me and said, "That's not fair?" I answered, "Right, it's not fair - it's golf!" Sometimes life throws us curve balls & we have to know how to respond. The next time someone tells you "that's not fair", don't argue with them - agree with them. Then, point out that life is not always fair - and no amount of government regulations, laws, etc., will ever make life "fair". Sorry - but that is the truth. Thanks for reading my musings. See more
