With Tax season right around the corner, I wanted to inform business owners on the change to Form 1099-MISC. Non-employee compensation of $600 or more (and other payments) usually reported on 1099-MISC, starting 2020, will now be reported on Form 1099-NEC. So if you normally pay independent contractors or other payments to non-employees, you will now file Form 1099-NEC going forward.
