Sacramento regional 911 centers are excited to announce the county-wide launch of Text-to-9-1-1. The feature is designed for individuals who cannot call 911 du...e to physical limitations or safety concerns, such as individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, cannot communicate verbally, or are in situations that are too dangerous to call 911. Remember, ALWAYS call if you can Text if you can’t. Be prepared to provide your location, who you need help from (fire, police, ambulance), and the nature of the emergency. Use plain English and do not send photos or videos. *Text-to-9-1-1 may not available in all areas. If you receive a text bounce back, you must call 911 to receive assistance. **This service is only offered in English at this time. Interpretation services are still in development.
