I believe that the travel industry will bounce back slowly this year. Now with a vaccine more countries will begin to open their borders as people begin getting vaccines. Our virus infection numbers have to diminish across the board though for this to happen. Vaccines will make travel a reality again. Can't wait but I am waiting for my shot. So, lately, with the slow down of travel, more consumers are looking for ways to travel safely during this pandemic. Families isolating together can find fun getaways not far from home. I remember as a kid our enlightening Sunday drives. We didn't go anywhere special but each drive took us on a new adventure to see something different that often involved an activity. We lived in Chicago, so going to the Dells in Wisconsin or the Sand Dunes in Indiana was a nice change of ...pace. Traveling anywhere within a two or three-hour drive from your home will open up new inspirations and discoveries for your family. Just watching as the scenery changes along the route can bring pleasure and awareness of a place. There are so many things we can see without ever getting out of the car. But we want to get out of the car. Road trips can break our routined monotony, give us a fresher outlook on life, and is often an awe-inspiring experience inexpensively. I look for quick getaways and shorter road trips to minimize my drive time. Spending a day or two in a new city if you have the time is another way to escape and unwind. In Los Angeles, we have a number of beach hotels with spas where we can vegetate for a day. Or stay at a hotel in Wine Country anywhere up and down the coast of California. San Diego is less than 3 hours away. I am always amazed at the fun things I have found to do, see, and enjoy on a road trip not far from my own backyard.
