Event tent with 7 local performers and ridiculous sea inspired skits, Elika's Treasure hunt plus the community market organized by Sarah Cullar on the Headlands. We will be giving away free Hot Cocoa or Mulled Wine with the purchase of a 15oz coffee mug with a new design by Derek Diorio of The Westport Whale in a Snowglobe! A beach cleanup by the Mendocino Mermaids, Face painting by Harmony Face Painting and a bounce house. Whale watching off the back deck by marine biologist Babz and whale docent Sarah Flaim Food, Beer and souvenirs will also be sold. So much more but don't want to ruin all the surprises. The 3rd annual Westport Whale festival is a month away and we have an exciting line up of local performers. Erin Brazill and the Brazillionaires are putting together a Special Sea Shanty mix for all of you to enjoy. Erin will transition into a few Duo's with local artist Derek Diorio as well as play a few songs with singer/whale enthusiast Sarah Flaim who rocks the ukulele. Sarah released her first album last year that has tracks with humpback whale song's she sampled in Ha...waii. Two other local friends, Sarah Cullar and Angelo Sommer will share some of their favorite songs. Linda Moody, long time friend and folk singer/song writer from San Francisco will entertain you with some tunes that will absolutely make you Spout with Joy! The Grand Finale will be Steven Bates who needs no introduction amongst us locals. His root rock style with conscious lyrics and virtuoso guitar makes everyone want to get up and dance. I feel so lucky to work with these folks this year. What started as an excuse to have a party has grown into something much bigger. The collaboration of a Seaside Village and it's local talent with a regular guy like me who one day decided to make a Gigantic Concrete Whale. Save the date!
