Presentation by Neighbors For Racial Justice What is the impact on innocent young black men when Three AA teenagers in hoodies are walking down the street? Be alert. is posted on neighborhood crime and safety list serves? Neighbors for Racial Justice (N4RJ) has developed a community presentation, Creating Safer and Welcoming Neighborhoods to address the devastating harm brought to communities of color through racial profiling as well as showing the negative impact of profiling on effective crime prevention. N4RJ is a group of Oakland neighbors from the Dimond District. Three years ago a group of us came together to challenge racial profiling on list-serves (like NextDoor). Since then N4RJ has engaged in ongoing dialogue with the company’s executives. We consulted in the creation of a new platform for crime reporting that is helping to bring awareness to racial profiling on that venue nationwide. Open Forum

There will be a Montclair Neighborhood Council Community meeting on Thursday, May 3rd starting at 7pm at the Montclair Presbyterian Church, 5701 Thornhill Drive. This is an information packed meeting, so we ask that time limits be respected so that all topics can be covered during the 2 hours we have the venue. Preparing for Fire Season...
