It’s become a running joke how many times I’ve asked...What would Kelly do? We all know that I started reading her first book #domiciliumdecoratus when I was a marketing exec at Warner Bro’s. I would read and go home and try and duplicate aspects of the rooms. She @kellywearstler is simply brilliant. She has single handedly ...reenvisioned eras of Hollywood regency and made us fall in love with the 80’s... as we went kicking and screaming. She is my design idol and it was wonderful to find out just how warm, funny and bright she is. This weekend I’m going to have a @masterclass on this fabulous designer. Been running so fast I forgot to post my dear friend @rosie.case latest post. Rosie is simply brilliant. Her design eye is just so incredibly refreshing. She insists that she’s not a designer and I insists that she is. Rosie is one of those people you meet virtually on Instagram and then you realize how brilliant she is, that she’s a former writer or something important at Vogue Magazine in NYC before she made Texas her home with hubby and kids! Thank you my friend for always just being so chill and always the coolest kid in the class. I love bouncing off ideas with you. Honored to grab a seat in the cafeteria next to yours!

We are moving #cybercrimemonday #artsale to Tuesday this week... this move allows us all to take a day to relax and honor those who labor so hard in this great country of ours. I want to especially honor our troops who labor so hard overseas and sacrifice themselves daily . They are the true victors and winnersI want to also honor the artists who work with me. They consider it a blessing to pursue their passion but also work super h...ard. I see you and appreciate you. Speaking of working hard...this week we feature this gorgeous acrylic on canvas - framed painting. We have several of these. I’m so excited... this time I will get to have one too! I’ve been OBSESSED with this painting from the first time we carried it a few months back. We sold one and had a bold customer in West Virginia who simply said, Can she do it again? And so I asked. If I’m not mistaken... this incredibly perfect wall is brought to us by @johnderiancompany. Guys if I’m wrong let me know .... you will I’m sure. First these completely distressed wooden frames, decaying canvases, so vintage they are sheer perfection to me. This incredible african textile haphazardly thrown in careless abandon.... I hit every flea market in hopes of finding something as gorgeous. I did find one similar right before Covid hit and I can’t wait to find the per...fect chair to upholster it on. The textile I found is not that big so I might have to use it only on the front. Will share when done. But I adore @johnderian because he gives us the old warm charm. Unmistakably HOME Clearly, I am a serious Californian ... born and bred... skateboards, swimming pools and beach days, with a little time growing up back East but my parents home of Kansas... and the summers I spent there watching the paint crack and riding horses, had an inordinate influence on my love of homey interiors. I NEED aged objects that have many secret to share. When I see distressed frames...I get excited. I have saved this photo in my archives for at least 5 years... . I even painted a wall at the shop something similar to this wash basin green. Bottom line... zoom in on the beauty of these distressed daisies...don’t make everything in your home so perfect.... let there be a grace for fractured pieces, for lives well lived... for objects which have been handled through the decades. #homebody #homeydesign See more

Guys... Such an incredible day in the shop. If anyone has followed me for any time... then you know I absolutely love a designing mind. One that thinks outside the box and then decides to create a whole NEW box... and a pink one at that ! Can’t wait to share more and you guys are just like me so I left bread crumb clues everywhere... it’s going to be worth the wait I promise. Today after the shoot I found out that my team and I had to remove all the furniture put in the p...arking lot area in the back of the shop to redo the floors. I wasn’t expecting to have to do that all so quickly.... it took a small army and all #cybercrimemonday time was gone.
