Next week, we are starting off Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month with a panel discussion on unlearning toxic masculinity and reclaiming healthy ways! Learn alongside us for this very important conversation. Watch on our Facebook Live on Tuesday 2/2 at 6pm PST! We are honored to be joined by panelist #4, another local powerhouse Jeff Guido!! He says, Aiy-yu-kwee’, my name is Jeff Guido. As a counselor, I have seen how destructive it can be to our young men that let today’s world define our masculinity. I also have my own first hand experience as I grew up trying to conform to Western Societies view of masculinity with little guidance. I am very happy to join this discussion about healthy masculinity as a healthy Native man today, and the positive outcomes that it creates.

On Sunday 1/31, join Two Feathers NAFS as we screen DOUK, a short film about a young Native girl who finds herself facing the possibility of being stolen from her home and family, made by local Wiyot filmmaker Michelle Hernandez. At 6pm, we will have a virtual conversation on our Facebook Live with Michelle and Douk actress, Destiny Lewis. See you there! How the *FREE* film screening works: 1. Register for event on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/douk-film-screening-...conversati 2. We will send you a link with password to access film on Sunday at 9am PST. It will be available for 24 hours. 3. Enjoy! About the film: Douk is a historical fiction drama based in the 1900’s. It tells the story of a young Native girl, Irene, who deals with a difficult reality of her and her sister being taken away from their family and sent to boarding school, where they will be assimilated into the western culture. This means that once this happens, they will no longer be able to practice their language, culture, and traditions. In order to prevent this from becoming a true actuality, Irene’s parents hatch a plan to save them.
