2Cents friends & patrons, It has become essential that we postpone Acting Out INK Fest 2020 until the late summer/early fall, to support the immediate need for public distancing, which will help slow the spread of COVID19. Please know we did not arrive at this decision lightly, and have been closely following the Coronavirus situation and updates from officials and experts. Ultimately, for the health and safety of our actors, crew, creative and production teams, patrons, thei...r families and our general community, it is clear we cannot at this time encourage this or any social gatherings. This means we will also be cancelling our Drag Queen Bingo INK-Raising Event scheduled for Tuesday 3/17. But do not be sad, INK Fest 2020 will absolutely be rescheduled for later this year! We will share news on new dates soon. Here are some of the INK Fest elements that would have been greatly affected by the Coronavirus situation that will now be preserved with the reschedule: -Our college-aged INK-terns will be able to be a part of INK again! -Student guests will be able to attend Day 1 of INK on a field trip as planned! -Our many regional playwrights who’ve had to cancel their travels will be able to reschedule their plans to attend and see their fully-produced work! -We won’t certainly cancel performances last minute because actors are sick and therefore be required to stay at home. -We won’t have to discourage elderly patrons from attending the Fest. -We will have packed houses with excited INK audiences without fear of risking anyone’s health. Thank you for understanding the need for this decision, and we hope to see you at INK 2020 in the fall! If you have already purchased tickets for the March dates, we will be in touch soon about rescheduling them or arranging a full refund if you will be unable to accommodate the fall dates, which will be announced soon. Please remember, in response to this actual pandemic, the solution is not to panic. Be aware of what protects and supports our community and the health of those around you. Listen to what the experts have to say and take their advice very seriously, we all need to do our part to protect the health of those at-risk. Be safe everyone, be there for each other (from a distance) and have faith. We are a resilient and beautiful community, let’s not forget how much we can thrive from each other’s love and support. **DIRECTING OPPORTUNITY** 2Cents is currently selecting a director for our upcoming Mental Health Awareness Month production of Sarah Ruhl's Melancholy Play. This will be a site-specific production, so we are looking for pitches that include interesting, specific location concept. ("WHY is the audience experiencing this play HERE?") ATTENTION DESIGNERS! 2Cents’ 7th Acting Out INK Fest, a 3-day Festival of fully produced One-Act Plays written by women, is seeking new sound and lighting designers to join our team! INK 2020 is thrilled to be moving into TWO beautiful spaces at the Broadwater Theaters in Hollywood, and so we're expanding our design team. This year INK will consist of 3 features and 25 shorts and will run March 27-29 with special events and celebrations happening throughout and special ceremo...nies closing out the weekend. All designer positions are paid, individual stipends range from $300-$700 based on block assignments.
