24 Hour Fitness 16.01.2021

Elvia's passion for fitness keeps opening doors - to her job at 24 Hour Fitness and her role in our ad campaign. But the start of her journey felt like more like an ending, when a head-on car collision forced her to take a break from school. She had worked so hard to receive scholarships that she lost a lot of self-worth and fell into a depression. Her brother invited her to the gym, and she noticed how good she felt after a workout. She began to feel stronger, and her self-worth rose. It was an unexpected turning point in her career and confidence. #StoriesAt24

We are all a community showing up to better ourselves. This does not have a gender or orientation but rather a common goal to be the best versions of ourselves," member Montgomery Nicholas told us at our photo shoot last month. Having shaken off his self-consciousness, Montgomery now describes the fitness industry and the people in it as "family, giving me the encouragement and motivation I need to continue growing. We're proud to have him as part of ours. #StoriesAt24

You can’t pick your challenges, but you can decide how to meet them. 24 Hour Fitness member Rayy Syymone was born with a nevus (a large, potentially cancerous mole) on her back. The doctor gave her mother the option to have the nevus removed, so they did. From birth until she was almost a teenager, Rayy was in the hospital frequently, having skin graft surgery, staples in her back and stiches everywhere. She was constantly in pain and couldn’t run, jump, play rough or bump in...to things because of the thin layer of skin and lack of protective tissue around her spine. When I was growing up, I wanted to be in sports, but I couldn’t. Rayy turned to food for comfort, until one day she realized she was wearing her trauma on her body and decided to make a change. Through a vegan diet and exercise, Rayy has been able to lose 100 pounds. Now, her goal is to inspire other people to live their best lives. She does this not only through inspiring social media, but also as a counselor at an adult school, serving people struggling with homelessness and depression. Rayy helps her students learn how to better take care of their mental well-being. #StoriesAt24

Elvia Campos is a featured member in our 2021 advertising campaign, and a General Manager at 24 Hour Fitness. She caught the attention of the manager at her club, who had seen her passion and asked her to interview. She was hired and has been with 24 Hour Fitness ever since. I think about that a lot. There are so many great membershow many can also be great team members, too? #StoriesAt24

Bella stole the show at the video shoot for our advertising campaign with her irresistible energy and warmth. Bella (pronounced bay-yah") is an example of someone who took what they love and turned it into a career. Growing up doing Latin dances, she decided to try a Zumba class after having her twins. "My first class I lasted a full 30 minutes. I thought I would kill it - and it was so tough! As the years went by the other students would say, you should teach, and the other instructors said the same so I got certified. I applied at a few gyms and now I’ve been with 24 for 6 years. #StoriesAt24

Our GX Coaches at 24 Hour Fitness inspire us every day. Bella Gormley, shares one of her proudest moments teaching Zumba: "As a GX coach we have this responsibility and pleasure really to build these relationships with members. One of my favorite stories is a few years ago a student came up to me after class and said, 'When I take your class, I feel my husband here with me. He has recently passed and we loved to dance. When I’m here taking your class, I feel him here with me....' "That was a big moment for me. What I love about our job is we make people happy. People remember you not for what you do, but how you make them feel. As an instructor I know they remember me because I make them happy." #StoriesAt24
