Are you planning a trip and don’t know what to do with your house plants or outside plants? You can buy a watering globe or make one with what’s in your recycling bin. You’ll need a screw top glass bottle, a hammer and a nail. Rinse and clean your bottle. Remove the label if desired. That can be accomplished by putting a very wet paper towel over the label; when it’s loose it should slide right off. Remove the screwtop and carefully, placing it over a block of wood, use... the nail to punch holes in the top. Fill the bottle with water, screw the top back on. To use, make a hole with your finger in the soil of your plant, then insert your watering bottle cap first into the soil. Are you sure your bottle is at least 2 inches down in the soil. The pressure of the soil in the water to keep it from emptying, and over time, it will drip out and water your plant. Depending upon the size of the bottle, you’ll need to refill with water every few days! See more

Are you using a diffuser to bring healthy fragrance into your home while you are sheltering in place? Remember, that like hands, it can develop fungus or bacteria so to clean it well. The vinegar and water method is tried and true for most every diffuser and keeps it clean and bacteria free. 1) Put water in your diffuser as usual. 2) Add one tablespoon of white vinegar. Its high acid content makes it a good natural disinfectant. 3) Run for 10-20 minutes to allow the vinega...r to disperse. The smell is strong so I place mine in the bathroom. 4) Dampen a cloth in the remaining water/vinegar and pour out the remainder. 5) Use the cloth to wipe the interior then the exterior of your diffuser. Use a Q-tip to get into the nooks and crannies. 5) Refill and use. It’s probably a good idea to clean once a month. If you change your oils frequently, you might want to remove all excess oil each week. See more

For a fast update, add a #tablerunner to your kitchen table. Why a table runner? They’re fabulous to add pattern, color, and texture. Create a beautiful tablescape that you can swap seasonally. Storage is easy. Roll it up into a compact shape that you can tuck into a kitchen cabinet or the bottom of the drawer. What size works for your table? Generally it’s 1/3 the width of your table and should hang down 6 inches on either end. That creates sufficient space so it does not interfere with your table settings, or hang down into the lap of someone eating at the table.
