After the success of the IOBA virtual book fair, we are excited about participating in our second one starting on Tues June 2 to Thurs June 4 - twelve new books are already loaded, including a few "unique" copies - no others listed on the net. https://getmansvirtual.com/ No direct link to our booth - but it will be easy to find us on the first page list of exhibitors!
The first day of the IOBA Virtual Book Fair is going really well. 50 exhibitors, over 1000 books (although some are sold!) ranging from $20 to over $20,000. check out our booth here https://www.iobabookfair.com/exhibitors/Bookfever.com
Getting ready for the IOBA Virtual Book Fair this weekend - will feature almost all brand-new listings? It's a lot easier on our backs than setting up at a physical book fair, so who knows? Maybe this will be the wave of the future. Opening Friday, May 15, so check it out -
No sooner did we return from Bouchercon in Dallas (the largest ever, and a great event) and a side trip to Big Bend National Park and Carlsbad Caverns, when we found ourselves in the middle of holiday sales. The sale on our website - https://bookfever.com - started today and runs through December 20, 2019. All books are marked down 25% - no coupon needed - with free media mail shipping in the US - and free gift wrapping, on request.
Getting ready for WorldCon76 in San Jose next week. We will be in the dealers' room, so stop by and say hi (and check out our books!)
We are having our annual holiday sale at bookfever.com - all books are 25% off - media mail shipping is free. We will continue to list more books at the sale progresses - in fact, we just uploaded a new file tonight - so check back often. Books make great gifts! We have thousands of first editions signed by the author, most under $50, lots of vintage juvenile series books, poetry, mysteries, science fiction and more.
Going through our inventory to bring some "new" items (actually, old, but new to us and not listed on line) to the Sacramento Antiquarian Book Fair this Saturday- http://www.sacbookfair.com/ - if anyone needs a free pass, let me know - and mention you saw this post at our booth for a special discount!
Just back from the Tucson Festival of Books on Mar 11 and 12th and the Paperback Collectors Book Show in Glendale on Mar 19th - hundreds of new signed books added to our website (not all have pictures uploaded yet) - https://bookfever.com - use the code FB10 to get 10% off any purchase!
Another way to help with "The Coldest Night of the Year" go to https://bookfever.com and enter "coldest" in the shopping cart - 10% of all purchases now thru Feb 24 will be donated - and you will save 10% also!
The "Coldest Night of the Year": On Sat Feb 25, hundreds of thousands of people across Canada will take to the streets in a walk to raise money for those most in need - in Vancouver, BC, the First United Downtown East shelter is one of the groups involved - "The shelter runs on a shoestring yet offers amazing programs to the whole community like foot care, showers, movie watching, emergency clothing, meals, beds, and secure storage for their belongings. Everyone is treated with dignity and it's a low-barrier shelter, meaning we are helping the most desperate members of the homeless community." you can donate here - https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx
An interesting selection of writers - I was glad to see that Gladys Mitchell was not overlooked. Her protagonist - Mrs. (later Dame) Beatrice Adela Lestrange Bradley - was uncommon in being the first professional woman to be featured as a detective. http://lithub.com/30-essential-crime-reads-written-by-wome/ check out Gladys Mitchell on our website - ... https://bookfever.com/featured-authors/gladys-mitchell/
There is a new change.org petition to repeal California's AB 1570 which affects the sale of autographed books - please sign it and forward it to everyone you can think of (The LA Times called this the worst bill of the year!) https://www.change.org/p/california-state-house-repeal-cali
