1st Nor Cal Credit Union

May 6th was a big day for Bay Area Food Banks. 1st Nor Cal Credit Union partnered with Bonneville Radio as the Presenting Sponsor of the Bay Area Food Bank Radiothon. The 12-hour Radiothon kicked off at 6am on radio stations 96.5 KOIT, 99.7 Now/KMVQ, 102.9 KBLX and 98.5 KFOX. The Radiothon was a great success and raised over $45,000 for our local Bay Area Food Banks! The food banks which will benefit included Solano & Contra Costa Food Bank, Alameda County Community Food Ba...nk, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, San Francisco & Marin Food Bank, Redwood Empire Food Bank and Napa Food Bank. With the COVID-19 crisis continuing, Bay Area residents are facing reduced hours, furloughs, and depleted savings. Food banks are one of the first places our residents can turn to for help feeding their families. Due to the increased need, Bay Area Food Bank supplies are at an all time low. Together with Bonneville Radio, 1st Nor Cal helped spread the word about the need for food bank donations and volunteers to help these critical community support institutions serve our friends and neighbors during this time of need. It was our pleasure to sponsor the event to help our community friends and neighbors during these difficult times.

We’re proud to have been a part of the West Coast Jamboree for 20 years in a row now! We started our sponsorship when the event only included a few local teams and we’ve enjoyed watching it grown into what it is today - the largest girl’s high school basketball tournament in the nation with 136 teams competing in 10 gyms in Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano Counties. This year, the event was held in honor of the founder, David Jackson (pictured here with his family), to celebrate the 20th anniversary. We look forward to many more years!

The Contra Costa District Attorney's Office "Special Victims Assistance Unit" goes above and beyond for our community everyday, so it was our honor to break bread (Mary's Pizza to be more precise) with them this last week during their KKDV Ultimate Lunch. We also helped support their National Crime Victims' Rights Week activities. The good work done by our friends at the DA's office does not go unnoticed.
