The Masonic Composting and Reforestation project will be continuing after a hiatuses due to construction. Math Science Nucleus received a grant from Vision 2026, Alameda County District 1 (Richard Valle) that helped us get a new tractor and other equipment to continue our food waste to compost to forest on the hills owned by Masonic Home. Art and Raquel (staff) are showing off the new tractor to help move compost to enrich the soil Pile of compost will be planted with 5-7 year old native trees (mainly oak) this coming rainy season with a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay. Want to learn more about the project, please visit our website: https://msnucleus.org/Masonic/index_masonic1.html

Children's Natural History Museum - Prehistoric Gardens Kevin Zhang from Boy Scout Troop 269 completed his Eagle Project in our Prehistoric Gardens by providing shade to children who play in our dig boxes. The cover was really needed to complete the look in the garden. We now have many children using this area as a playground, just looking for rocks. Thank you Kevin for a job well done!

The Children’s Natural History Museum has been closed since March so many people have not been able to see the fossils of Fremont and enjoy our educational presentations of these significant fossils. We just received a few more specimens from Caltrans which will be added to our collection. Unfortunately, our curation is going at a slow pace because of our closure and lack of volunteers. Lucille Zhu, a senior at Mission San Jose High School created a wonderful Virtual Tour... which we currently have available on our website. If you are a teacher or homeschooler we have a worksheet where students can look for items like a Virtual Scavenger Hunt. You can visit the tour by going to the following link and click on Virtual Tour. https://cnhm.msnucleus.org/ Please share with fellow educators. You can use your cell phone and walk through the museum!
