This weekend a man in his 30's was pulled off the rocks at the Marin Headlands and is missing, a pair of beach goer wearing waders had the same thing happen only one made it to shore while the other is also missing, and then a wave wiped out a sailing school in Santa Cruz putting multiple people/kids in the water. Last weekend a 40 year old father and his 2 kids were taken by a wave in Sonoma. We continue to remind everyone of these tragedies in the hope that we scare you i...n to be being BOLD AT THE BEACH when you see sketchy stuff going down. You ARE NOT A JERK for speaking out. If we save one life we have done well. I remember being at the beach with my dad and being really embarrassed, actually mortified, as he scolded a fisherman in the surf. The guy was knee deep and wearing waders with 2-4ft surf washing his knees. My dad said "Brother you are wearing death pants. No waders in the ocean. We call them sea anchors." I was petrified with his inappropriate challenge which is why the memory is so vivid. I look back on it so differently now. With pride. He didn't care what people thought of him (to a fault but that's a longer story) he just told it like it was. The guy ingnored him but at least he tried. The people who are reading this post are part of the answer on how we spread the messages of safety. Thanks ahead of time for your boldness. Exercise can help stave off covid 19. Dont let winter slow you down. Doing it outdoors is always best but this quote from the CDC shows that in the modeling less excercise means more covid. "The US could see an explosion of Covid-19 cases in the fall and winter as people exercise less caution and spend more time indoors, where there is a greater likelihood of transmission, according to Dr. Chris Murray, director of the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME)"
