A quick tip on using the Lasso Tool in Photoshopafter you’ve selected the tool and left-mouse clicked on the starting point of your selection, hold down the Option-key (Mac) or Alt-key (PC) and keep holding it down until you’re finished with your selection. The option-key changes your lasso tool into the polygonal lasso tool. If you’re not familiar with the polygonal lasso tool, it allows you to click from point to point, making your selection with a series of straight lines.... But the beauty of this is that while you hold down the left-mouse button, you can freehand draw your selection like the normal lasso tool. Only when you let go of the mouse button, rather than closing the selection, the tool switches to polygonal mode, allowing you to click for a straight line or let go of the Option-key to close the selection. Learning this one trick (hold down option!) made the tool a lot more useful for me. Try it out!
