What is Executive Functioning? Executive Function means the ability to get stuff done (homework, writing a paper or cleaning a room, etc.). ... It's not uncommon for the parents I work with to say something like this, I don't understand why he doesn't just do his homework and turn it in. We use a evidence based program called SMARTS to help us guide students through the process of developing the skills and strategies they need to be successful.
Math can be FUN! We love using @learningresources in our sessions to jazz it up! These can work on automaticity with math facts, executive functioning, and helps with working on anxiety students may get with timed tasks! #educationaltherapy #dyslexia #learningdisabilities ... #autism #learningresources #gamesforlearning #makelearningfun See more
GREAT news from REACH Elementary & Middle Schools! We are partnering with Renaissance School to create a bi-weekly Professional Zoom Speaker Series for parents to explore how education is evolving in the current era of online learning. What should parents be concerned about? When should they contact a professional, and who is the right person? Each hour-long discussion will feature one or two professionals who will discuss a topic pertinent to their field and what types of... children/teens/adults benefit from it, followed by Q&A. First up on May 27 at 6 pm is "Just for Now Framing this Time of Crisis for Parents," with Dr. Karen Fried, Educational Therapist, Psy.D., LMFT, & licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Karen will be discussing how children’s emotions impact their ability to learn, and outline a guide for how parents to navigate through these stressful times. Sign up at reachelementaryschool.org For more information about Karen see oaklandertraining.org or kandmcenter.com #zoomlearning #oaklandertraining #kandmcenter #educationaltherapy #specialneeds #speakerseries #dyslexiaeducation #autismeducators #educationevolution #parentsofspecialneeds #emotionsandlearning #specialneedsmiddleschool See more
Here we focused on two activities. Categorizing words by their Long Vowel sound and also imagining words using colored squares only to represent sounds within a word! This will help students develop their phonemic awareness!
