1099’s for 2020 must be provided to workers no later than February 1, 2021- normally due January 31st, but since it falls on a Sunday this year the due date was extended. Just a reminder that 1099-NEC has been brought back and is to be used for workers other than employees that perform services for your business and you have paid $600 or more in the year. 1099-NEC does not apply to household workers, as they are considered employees. If you have any questions about using or... filling out the 1099-NEC form give our office a call - We are happy to help! . . . . #taxpreparer #tax #taxservices #accounting #entrepreneur #business #taxexperts #personalfinance #taxseason #taxreturn #taxpayers #corporatetax #smallbusiness #financialliteracy #taxconsultant #taxes2020 #taxes2021 #taxes #financialfreedom #finances #money #california See more

When it comes to tracking business expenses there is a big misconception that all you need to keep to prove the expense is the credit card or bank statement. Statements only show that you made a purchase, they do not show what you purchased and therefore you can not prove from a statement that the expense is a business expense. You actually need to hang onto your receipts. However, the ink on the receipts will fade over time, so it’s best to make digital copies and store the...m either on your computer or in an app; or make paper copies and store in a file folder in your home. . . . . . #taxpreparer #tax #taxservices #accounting #entrepreneur #business #taxexperts #personalfinance #taxseason #taxreturn #taxpayers #corporatetax #smallbusiness #financialliteracy #taxconsultant #taxes2020 #taxes2021 #taxes #financialfreedom #finances #money #california #selfemployed #taxprep #taxadvisor #zentaxadvisors See more

Oftentimes when making a charitable contribution throughout the year we are under the impression that it is tax deductible. Technically contributions made to a qualifying organization are deductible; but for most tax situations this deduction does not have an impact on your return. You only benefit from charitable deductions if you are able to itemize on your return vs taking the standard deduction. Another important thing to remember is that you are unable to deduct the pric...e you paid for any items donated. You must determine Fair Market Value, i.e. what it would sell for at a thrift or consignment store. You will also need to keep records of any items or monetary contributions made throughout the year. Need help determining if you’ll be taking the standard deduction or itemized deductions this year contact us today and one of our qualified tax professionals will be happy to assist you! See more
