Hi guys! Here is our newest update. Thank you for following along and keeping us in prayer. YWAM Modesto has been in a mutually beneficial relationship with New Hope Church for our whole 20 years. When we host teams, we do it at New Hope. When we have events, we do it at New Hope. Our official address is New Hope’s. We store stuff there. We gather there. New Hope's congregation has supported us in every way. Recently, as church leadership has stepped down, we have been thru...st into a whole new ballgame. We are now the stewards of the church property and it's ministry. "Hope Commons" is the new name for the property and we are so excited for new possibilities. We’re laying some foundations right now for the season ahead. Developing a new leadership structure, team and vision for the property. It’s not just a new chapter. It’s a new book! We envision.... Being mission focused! We want this property to be utilized as a missional asset even more than it is right now. Offering layers of hospitalitypost COVID, we imagine 3 paths of connection with our community. City wide - events like concerts that people from all over would attend. Neighborhood - after school, youth and family events. Focused interests - teams that welcome refugees, connect with the street community, etc. Emphasizing discipleship...being a worshiping, serving and learning community together. We are seeking new ways to be a creative, compassionate community. Amie and Mila continue to connect with the local refugee community in our own hospitality house but also around the greater community. They host art classes for kids and youth in the neighborhood, they are helping to whip the property into shape and are hosting a weekly youth group. Our street team volunteers continue to faithfully connect with friends on 9th Street and around the city. Chris is working away at keeping all the admin and accounting caught up, hosting Hope Commons Zoom meetings and trying to connect creatively with the congregation and with other mission and church workers in the city. He also continues to serve as activity director for a residential care facility for people with mental illness. Thanks for reading, friends!

Taking a #corona break with the youth (never thought we'd say that!) to clean the craft and games cupboards we use for #NewHopeKids. Our Tuesday night program is on hiatus for the time being.

We haven't posted sice 2016! Guess it's about time. - This morning we said goodbye to @ywam_fort_mcmurray who have been with us for 2 weeks! They are such an encouragement. They served us and our city well! - Every YWAMer's life has been shaped by loading up too much luggage into a van or bus and hitting the road for adventures unknown. These friends have a 36 hour road trip ahead of them back Alberta (only a little jealous :)... #YWAM #Modesto #outreach #roadtrip
