Your toothbrush is not able to get perfectly in-between your teeth to remove food particles and plaque. This leaves your teeth vulnerable to decay and your gums vulnerable to infection and eventually gum disease. Today is a good day to start flossing your teeth! Keep in mind that flossing should not be painful. Don't force the floss down in-between your teeth causing your gums to bleed. You may feel some discomfort at first, but keep at it! Daily flossing results in fewer or ...no cavities, healthier gums and fresh breath. Questions or concerns? Give us a call at (707) 863-0777. We'd love to talk to you about flossing! See more

If your nutrition is out of whack with too much fast food, processed food or skipping meals altogether, symptoms can appear on your tongue, gums, teeth and the soft tissues in your mouth. If something becomes loose or sore or just looks different inside your mouth, it could be your body asking for a nutrient it's lacking. Vitamins and minerals from these foods can help keep your teeth and gums healthy: Calcium - milk, yogurt, cheese, canned sardines & spinach... Magnesium - halibut, broccoli, green beans & cashews Vitamin B2 - almonds, kale & lentils Vitamin B3 - avocados, potatoes, ground beef & shrimp Vitamin B6 - bananas, watermelon, tomatoes & chicken Vitamin B12 - poultry, fish, shellfish, meats & eggs Vitamins C & A - mangos, oranges & leafy green vegetables Vitamin D - eggs, milk, salmon, tuna & trout While this is an abbreviated list, we would encourage you to look into foods that will give you the most minerals and vitamins that help to keep your mouth healthy. You are surely going to smile more often with healthy teeth and gums! Questions or concerns? Give us a call at (707) 863-0777. We're here to help!

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape and improve its strength and appearance. It holds together parts of a cracked tooth and protects a tooth weak from decay. It can also restore an already broken tooth, a tooth that has been severely worn down, and cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn't a lot of tooth left. A crown is a great option to restore badly shaped or severely discolored teeth, and importantly, dental crowns help create a beautiful smile! To find out if crowns are right for you, call us at (707) 863-0777.

Did you know? It's best to drink sweet beverages through a straw. Using a straw will keep the sugary drink away from your teeth to help prevent cavities and tooth decay!

Natural tooth-colored fillings will restore the original strength of your teeth. They will also replace the unsightly, dark areas of metal that can detract from a beautiful smile. Tooth-colored fillings can restore minor areas of decay in a truly aesthetic way. In some cases, we can replace failing silver (amalgam) fillings with composite fillings so that you have a more beautiful, natural-looking smile. To learn more about any of the benefits of tooth-colored fillings, please call our office at (707) 863-0777 today!

Tired of those dentures? We can help with implant-supported dentures! One of the biggest complaints concerning dentures is that they are not comfortable and often come loose. When they do shift, it usually happens at the worst time when eating or talking. They also require adjustments from time to time as your bone erodes away from underneath them. This situation can even reach a point where a person's face can appear sunken or hollow causing them to look older than they ar...e. An Implant-supported denture is one of the best advances in dentistry. This procedure is sometimes referred to as "All on Four" because of the ability to stabilize and fix a denture with just four implants. Do you have dentures that are loose and shift around? Give our office a call at (707) 863-0777 to set up a complimentary consultation.

What kind of toothbrush do you use? Whether it is electric or not, it's important to buy a toothbrush with soft bristles. If the bristles are too rigid, brushing could be too abrasive and damaging to the enamel on your teeth and could cause your gums to bleed. Brushing too hard, even with a soft-bristled toothbrush, can cause your teeth to become sensitive. Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. Go easy and think of giving your teeth a gentle massage, and mak...e sure not to scrub them. Has it been six months since your last checkup? If so, give us a call at (707) 863-0777 to set up an appointment today. Oh, and don't forget to floss at least once a day (twice is better)!
