Even during this trying academic year, A&F continues to support Yuba College students! With the assistance of alumna Amber Kuykendall, we recently purchased 12 jackets for the Veterinary Technology Club. These jackets are embroidered with both the A&F and Vet Tech Club logos and will be worn by students as they represent the college in our community.

It’s a wrap: Fall 2020, a message from Yuba College President College Community, In the Appeal-Democrat newspaper on Dec. 17 an article appeared sharing a few success stories of students at Yuba College. These students (and many others!) were nominated by faculty who had seen them excel this semester. The article focuses on these students' efforts to make distance education work. It also highlights some of the difference makers at YC who the students named (both individuals ...and departments). If you have not read this article you should. DE isn't perfect - some of us struggled. But this article features students who have despite the odds made it work. That was wild. Our first day of Fall 2020 started with a power outage, continued with fire season impacts (evacuations, AQI challenges), took place in a distance education modality for 80% of our courses, saw a period of COVID stability, and ended with a steep increase in case rates. All of that happened while we established clear safety guidelines that resulted in no major COVID outbreaks at YC. And now it's time for us all to sign off for a bit. First, I hope you spend some time during the Winter Recess reflecting on what you have accomplished. You deserve to be proud because this semester required commitment, persistence, imagination, and a high level of resilience. You did that. Take some time to reflect. Second, I hope you spend some time being hopeful. The road ahead will still require persistence, but the light is there. While we expect to continue to see challenges after the Winter Holidays in COVID rates, vaccines are being distributed and in the coming months conditions are expected to improve. We will also see our chance to channel the frustrations caused by lost opportunities into creating a better College for our students and our employees in 2021. Finally, I hope you spend some time in the warmth of new traditions. I know that these holidays will be anything but normal. I appreciate all of us making decisions to keep us safe and healthy. My family and I extend to you our wish for a peaceful Winter Season to you and yours. We continue to have much to be grateful for and will welcome 2021 with open arms. Yuba College Baseball asking for our help! As most of you know this year has been extremely tough for our students. We are currently holding a Eteam sponsor fundraiser campaign to give our student athletes the best experience possible during these challenging times. Our students have done a great job with fundraising over $10,000 but we ask for your help now.
