The Yuba County Mounted Sheriffs Posse consists of 45 volunteer men and women dedicated to provide essential search and rescue services when called upon by the Yuba County Sheriff. The Posse will be conducting our ONLY, fill the pack fundraiser in 2020 on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2020. Uniformed Posse members will be at Sams Club in Yuba City on Saturday the 24th accepting donations from 9 am to 5 pm. On Sunday, our members will be at the 76 gas station (SR 20 @ Marysville rd) from 8am to 3 pm, and at Loma Rica Rd at Fruitland Rd from 9 am to 3 pm. Your generous donations allow the Posse to provide essential disaster assistance to our Yuba County communities in times of emergencies. Thank you for for support.
The members of the Yuba County Sheriffs Posse would like to extend our sincere thanks to the following local businesses and individuals who stepped up to donate much needed supplies, animal feed and food for our hungry members. Our members put in many long hours to support evacuation needs during the North Complex and Willow fires. SUPPLIES & FEED: Ray Bradley’s Feed Store, Sutter Orchard Supply, Tractor Supply, White Horse Ranch and Feed, Yuba City Moose Club ,Tony Marino for ice and Sara Lynn Specht for her pro bono veterinary services. FOOD: Browns Valley 76 gas station, Silver Dollar Saloon, Travis Carlyle, Denise Hoyt and Rob and Monica Ramos.
Helping send evacuated horses back home while waiting to receive more if necessary.
Photos of some of our equine guests over the last week.
The Yuba County Sheriffs arena on September 10 with a full house of approximately 42 evacuated horses . Posse members care for them 24/7 when the owners have been evacuated from their homes. This may go on for a couple weeks but our 38 members are prepared for this. All feed hay was donated by Sutter Orchard Supply. Pellet supplements and salt blocks were donated by Tractor supply. Valuable Veterinary services donated by our local veterinarian Saralynn Specht. We could not provide a high level of care to those horses without the support of these businesses. Thank you !
