We are super excited to announce that YCP high school students will be attending this special screening of The Infiltrators, and they'll get to learn about the ways in which the media and social justice/activism intersect. Thank you NewFilmmakers Los Angeles! Register to join virtually at www.NFMLA.org/POV2
Last week YCP's Executive Director was interviewed on Good Day LA about all the work the Latino Film Institute is currently doing to further diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. Let's keep the conversation going!
YCP Founder Edward James Olmos just spoke at a House judiciary committee hearing about the current lack of representation of POC in Hollywood. YCP was founded in response to the lack of diversity and it is our mission to change the future in film and in life. Thanks for standing strong jefe! It is with great excitement and honor to officialy welcome 3 new schools to the YCP family. From @pajarovalleyusd we have Pajaro Valley High School in Nor Cal, and from MUSD we have Macy Intermediate and Montebello High School joining us in So Cal. These 3 added schools complete the pathway for students in both districts to continue their filmmaking education from 4th grade through high school, marking a long awaited milestone for YCP and these school districts.
We are back to school at YCP! Mentors and students have returned to the virtual classroom for another year of filmmaking. Here are some shots of mentors on their first day of class!
