Sebastian Trujillo joined the Youth Enrichment Services program with the goal of obtaining his Electrical Trainee Certificate. Although Sebastian had to work full time to sustain himself financially and simultaneously go to class to pursue his Electrical Trainee certificate, he was determined and motivated to get ahead and finally completed the program. He obtained his certificate of completion in General Electrician Studies. Great Job Sebastian! Lisset Quiroz joined Youth Enrichment Services program with the goal of obtaining her High School diploma. Cristobal Malagon started working very hard to get ahead at a very young age. His parents left to Mexico when he was only 12 years old, it was extremely challenging for him to go to school and feel supported by his family. Although he liked school and always tried his best to do well, he was discouraged to continue his education, since he needed to start working at an age to pay for his day to day necessities. Despite all the struggles Cristobal endured, he successfully obtained his GED and will be enrolling into Chabot college next semester. Ana Moreno joined Youth Enrichment Services program with the hopes of obtaining her high school diploma. Jonathan C. joined Youth Enrichment Services in October 2018 with hopes of earning his high school diploma. With hard work and determination, Jonathan was able to earn his diploma in May 2019. After earning his diploma Jonathan, like most recent graduates did not know what to do next. While working with his case manager, he decided that he wanted to find a part-time job to earn money for college. By November 2019 Jonathan was able to gain employment with Target in the electronics department. By January 2020, Jonathan began his first college classes at Chabot College. Paola Serrano was born in California but raised in Mexico. Paola came back to the United States as a teen and wanted to obtain her GED, but was too embarrassed to speak English because of her accent. At that time she wasn't interested in attending college, but after meeting with her case manager she was persuaded to give college a try. After obtaining her GED, Paola registered for Chabot College and during this time she was able to participate in a paid internship with the Eastmont Wellness Clinic in Oakland which helped her gain medical experience. #HAS #YES #WIOA #Youthenrichmentservices #hayward #haywardadultschool

Congratulations Xavier Gomez Cramer! Xavier has faced many challenges in his life, one of them being a high school dropout while at the same time being homeless. The YES program helped Xavier navigate through the process of obtaining his GED and provided him with much assistance and support. Congratulations Crystal Martinez! Crystal joined Youth Enrichment Services in October 2019 with the goal of attaining her GED. While trying to achieve her goal, Crystal had to endure multiple obstacles, one of them being homeless at one point. Fortunately, her situation did not stop her from achieving her ultimate goal.
