In a population of over 10,000,000 Los Angeles county has about 360 cases of you-know-what and 4 deaths as of Saturday morning. It has been around since December or early January.

Putting the current flu virus in perspective, here are CDC figures through 2018. Not sure how well this will duplicate on FB, but Wikipedia shows 2017-18 flu season, Oct 1, 2017 to April 28, 2018, to have produced over 900,000 cases and 61,000 deaths in the US. A single figure or set of figures for this current outbreak will only make sense if compared to similar figures in the past. This comparison is unpardonably absent from the recent media coverage.

Good morning from the Arb (LA County Arboretum). A couple lovelies from the down-under and a unique one from the dessert. Unique color and very short-lived.

Howdy, Folks! Part of my morning routine is to take a walk at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia, CA. And I take photos of flowers, plants and the occasional critter. Not people. Mainly flowers. Can't explain it. I go on holiday to visit my family, and come home with a few photos of flowers. Go figure. Anyhow, I am going to share some as time goes on. I have been sharing with a couple close friends, prefacing each text with "Good Morning from the Arb." And so it shall be.
