Here are the three areas that have the greatest ability to impact rates this week. 1) Coronavirus, 2) The Fed, and 3) Domestic. Rate volatility has spiked over the last couple of weeks. We don't expect too much volatility this week, but of all of the areas that can move rates, we'll be paying very close attention to weekly jobless claims. #YourPreferredLender

These are the three areas that have the greatest ability to impact rates this week: 1) Central Bank, 2) Treasury Dump, and 3) Stimulus. 1) Central Bank: We will get the Bank of Canada's interest rate decision on Wednesday, but Thursday's European Central Bank's interest rate and policy decision on Thursday will be a major market driver this week. 2) Treasury Dump: We have another massive wave of debt that the Treasury department will be dumping into the marketplace, which is ...in direct competition for dollars with our MBS. Last month, MBS sold off noticeably after the Treasury 30 year bond auction. We have that same auction on Thursday. 3) Stimulus: While it appears that both parties are on board with "kicking the can down the road" with raising the debt ceiling and avoiding a government shutdown this month, the market is focused on any movement on the next stimulus bill now that Congress is back in session following the Labor Day weekend. #YourPreferredLender #breanow
