Creating connections, expressing care, and combating isolation amid this pandemic is important for both students and senior citizens alike. So, several students joined the Alliance on Aging's efforts to deliver messages of love and connection to our neighbors in care facilities for the Valentine's Day holiday. Madison '24, Wesley '24, Pu Zhen '24, the Class of 2025, and Mrs. Moneypenny contributed ~400 cards. The knitting club at York has been thriving over the last few years under the leadership of Frances Cardinale '22 and Hannah Xu '23. "As Co-President of almost 2 years, I am so proud of the good our little club has been able to do and am committed to continuing it," said Frances. The club introduces new students to the art of knitting. In addition experienced knitters have been working on a community service project that involves knitting baby hats that are donated to the local hospitals. The club is now looking into expanding the project to make hats for cancer patients and the homeless. In addition they will be crocheting stuffed animals (there is a name for this but I have forgotten what it is called) for children who have to spend extended periods of time in the hospital.

York School currently has over 10 different after school cohorts for students! There is a wide variety of options available, like painting and volunteering at the Food Bank, to MMA or mountain biking. There is even a cohort just for our newest Falcons, the 8th graders, to help them connect and discover our campus in person.
