Member Alert Suspicious Activity Member Alert... We wanted the Participants and Subscribers to be aware of some recent incidents. We have had reports of individuals calling Realtors claiming to be another Associate's spouse and wanting to know where they could locate the person at the moment. This has happened more than once to different agents. The spouses of these agents never placed those calls. In addition: Female agent receives a call from a blocked number. Caller states that he was transferred by the administrator. (he was not) Caller discusses challenges in their family/marriage. Caller asks personal questions about his "wife" or the agent he's speaking with. Also, on one of the calls, the caller appeared to have been watching the office to see who was coming and going. These incidents have been reported to the Sheriff's office. Please make sure you know who you are communicating with before sharing information about other agents or yourself. Most local Associations of REALTORS have REALTOR Safety Handbooks. They contain some very useful information on how to stay safe on the job; at open houses, etc.

NOTE: This is the final push to stop the transportation tax on mortgages..many of you have probably been hearing the supports pushing this bill locally on the radio via commercials and other special items---this is a chance for the power of the REALTOR and our numbers to speak out. There is an easy link below to log your opposition to this bill. Earlier last week Congress, extended the current Transportation Bill until Friday, December 4, 2015. The extension was p...assed to give the members of the House-Senate Conference Committee additional time to reconcile the differences between the House bill, which includes the NAR supported amendment removing the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac G-Fee as a funding mechanism, and the Senate Bill which relies on an extension of the G-Fee to help finance the Transportation Bill. New conferees have been added to the conference committee on the highway bill. The conferees for California are Sen. Boxer and Reps. Denham, Huffman, Lofgren, Napolitano, Loretta Sanchez and Waters. We understand that the committee plans to move very quickly. As result of the Congressional action, NAR will keep the current Call for Action open until Friday, December 4, 2015. Overall, California has a 19.48% participation rate with 29,925 members having already responded.
