The sky this morning made me want to do #flips! . . . What a #beautiful morning it was! I sat down to record a couple of sessions but I was so taken back by my #background (that somehow I didn’t notice before), that I had to play a little! I chose one of my favorite poses, #urdvadhanurasana or #wheelpose because it makes me feel like a kid again, not to mention it’s an excellent pose for my #thyroid, #kidneys and #adrenalglands! Like a love squeeze to them! ... . . . When I was done being #playful I happily started to record a session but then had major malfunctions with my videoing in 2 different platforms. What’s worse is I didn’t catch either one until I was 30 & 45 minutes into my #teachings. It was frustrating and exhausting to say the least! . . Shortly after, though, I realized it was a sign from #theuniverse saying, just stop working and #play today, Jess. After all, I have been working tirelessly on my business, which entails overthinking, over analyzing and overwhelming yourself...So Today, I’m just simply over it and dedicating today as a #playday! . . . Come on! Let’s play! Let’s dance! Let’s sing! Let’s laugh! Hey shoulders, it’s me, #yoga . . . Do your #shoulders and #neck constantly feel tense and tight? Do you feel especially stressed in that first thing in the morning? ... . . . These 2 yoga exercises are ahhhhhmazing for this area! . . . Step 1: on all fours, take your right arm and gently swing it underneath your left, placing it on the ground. Extend your left arm out and at a 10-12 o’clock position (depending on your flexibility). Be mindful to not rest on your ear, but rather on the space above the ear. Your right shoulder should be on the ground. If it’s too difficult to achieve that, place a blanket or pillow underneath. Repeat other side and SMILE . . . Step 2: on your belly, extend arms out like an airplane. Come onto your fingertips and point your elbows up to the sky. Drop your right shoulder down, along with your right ear. Again, if you need support, grab a blanket or a soft pillow. Repeat other side and SMILE . . Hold each pose for 5 slow breaths. Bonus to incorporate cat/cow sequence before and after! . . . When you only have a few moments, where does your #focus go? . . . #Meditation and #mindfulpractice redirects our awareness in the moments in between life happening. Those in between moments when we don’t have to answer a call, tend to our partner or kids, decide what to eat or what your plans will be for the weekend. ... These in between moments (even if it’s just for a split second) can shift your energy towards the entire day, all depending on your focus. . . If you decide to focus on the worry, stress or the unfairness of it all, that is what you will receive. . . I’ve learned a lot in my 13 year career with yoga, #meditation and #mindfulness.
