Known in the Hawaiian language as Wainuenue (literally "rainbow water"), the fall...s flows over a natural lava cave, the mythological home to Hina, an ancient Hawaiian goddess. Rainbow Falls derives its name from the fact that, on sunny mornings around 10AM, rainbows can be seen in the mist thrown up by the waterfall. How do you start your day?? How do you keep your home?? Grounding and healing the root chakra doesn't have to involve altars or stones or anything special or different. Taking the time to make your bed in the morning, pausing for 10 minutes to journal and reflect and keeping your eyes on your goals all add to the power and strength of our Root Chakra as we move through out our day. For my last workshop, I thought I was going to be able to talk about all seven chakras and have time for Vinyasa,Yin and Nidra... This quickly proved to be impossible! Too much good information and insight, not nearly enough time! So, my friends, I am very proud to announce: ILLUMINATING THE CHAKRAS, THE SERIES. Four Saturdays, two hours each! We will be breaking down and understanding each chakra on an intimate and literal level. Bringing this ancient wisdom out of abstracti...on and making it applicable and valuable to your every day life. Find greater balance and a deeper sense of well being as we explore our "symptoms" and how they relate back to our "systems." Taking our everyday choices and habits as insights to our greater whole. I took my first Yoga Nidra class over a year ago and fell instantly in love. Since then I have incorporated it into my personal practice and a bit into my classes... Tonight will be my first opportunity to lead a full class! 1 Hour and 15 minutes of pure, uninterrupted vibrational bliss!! Sunspark Yoga 7:15p Yoga Nidra, although Tantric in ori...gin can be classified as a part of the Raja Yoga system’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, the well-known codification system of the Yogic practices by Patanjali (an Indian sage who lived around 200 B.C.). In fact no less than three of the eight limbs of yoga can be seen in this practice: 1) Pranayama: Control of breathing through specialized exercises and the subsequent ability to amass, control and direct Prana, the life energy force. 2) Dharana:Concentration, cultivation and heightening of inner perceptual awareness and 3) Pratyharya:Control over the sensory mechanisms of the physical body specifically though exercises which deal with willful withdrawal of the senses and influences of the mind. The influences of most interest being those which do not serve us on the path of enlightenment and/or liberation THE THREE MAIN TRADITIONAL ASPECTS OF THE YOGA NIDRA PRACTICE 1) A systematic method of inducing complete mental, physical and emotional relaxation while maintaining awareness at deeper levels. 2) A way to manifest any desire (physical, mental or spiritual). 3) A method of altering karma and finding Moksha (Liberation).

Yoga Nidra is one of the deepest of all meditations, leading awareness through many levels of mental process to a state of supreme stillness and insight. Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep. It is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Meditation, you remain in the Waking state of consciousness, and gently focus the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and go to Deep Sleep, yet remain awake. While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by Yogis to purify the Samskaras, the deep impressions that are the driving force behind Karma.
