Such a warm, calm day at the coast for YogaHike at the Beach at Bodega Bay Trailhead. And instead of our usual yoga spot on the bluff, I decided to hold practice down on the beach on the sand. Been having some thought-provoking, sucker-punching conversations around the popular book White Fragility and its cult-like tenets, which IMHO feels to be creating even further division among us. In search of other ideas and opinions, I came across John McWhorter’s piece in The Atlantic. Felt it important to share this bit of sanity with anyone interested in exploring consciously and compassionately, in an age and time where the world appears be eating itself from the inside out.

Everything we encounter in this world is temporary, transient. We are not meant to hold for too long any thing, person, state of mind or place. Sunlight or moonlight. Contentment or disappointment. Love or loss. Our lives are a play of opposites. Always seeking a return to balance. Our world is in a constant state of motion and evolution...as are we, being a part of it. A delicate, vulnerable chrysalis in one moment, reborn an extraordinary butterfly the next. Embrace change and upheaval. It's arrival is inevitable, here to inform and transform. Dwelling on how we wish things were different only prevents us from realizing our innate strength to naturally flow with the changing rhythm of the universe. Trust, and let go.
