Here's more pics of the couch project. Shows you the way I found it. The painting job I did on it with Annie Sloan chalk paint and dark wax. And, the finished product. I'm thinking about making the cushion darker. I bought the fabric for the cushion way before I found the other fabric for the front and back of the couch.

THE COUCH IS DONE!!! This has been a two year project. I got the couch entirely by chance when someone had to move and get rid of it fast. I saw the potential of what it could be. I poured through swatches at JoAnn Fabrics and ordered about 50 over a years' time. Every time I'd like something, they wouldn't have it in stock. This couch has three fabrics; one for the cushion, one for the inside front and one for the back. The cushion material was bought a year ago and it was d...one along with 3 pillows by Linda Weber of Linda's Cloth Creations in Dry Town. Unfortunately the other two fabrics I wanted weren't available. So, I went to plan B. Now the cushion fabric doesn't quite match the ensemble, but it'll do for now. I'll probably get something darker. Charlie Christensen of Pioneer did the upholstery. I'll put up more detailed pics in the next post. See more

This started out as an old, brown, yucky Broyhill dresser. I painted the dark grey area with Annie Sloan Graphite three times. I painted the drawers and legs with Annie Sloan Old White three times. I finished the grey part with clear wax. The drawers got dark wax and then an overlay of watered down Old White on the inside part divided by the groove. I also painted the sides of the drawer in coral. I used a 18K gold pen to run through the grooves. I also used that pen on the drawer pulls. I plan to decopauge the insides of the drawers with nice paper, as soon as I find what I'm looking for. Now it holds up my TV.

Here's the dresser I've been working on all summer. Probably took 24 hours total to do. I'll post another one with more photos of the details of this project.
